Original Sanwa XTP-M3L1 Type A PCB with an adjustable jump microswitch, designed to prevent accidental jumps. Compatible with Sanwa JLF, JLX and JLX2 joysticks.
The Sanwa XTP-M3L1 PCB tackles one very specific problem: accidental jumps. It keeps the familiar clicky feel, but fits the up direction with an adjustable-activation microswitch. Your character stays grounded and only jumps when you mean it to. In fighting games, where an unwanted jump while charging a move or crouching can cost you a round, the difference shows.
The adjustable microswitch (the yellow one) is the same model used in the JLX2-TPML-8YT-SK silent joystick and the TPML-MA leaf switch PCB. The other three (red) are standard microswitches.
Adjustment is done with a small flat-head screwdriver, not included. Turning the yellow dial anticlockwise reduces the sensitivity of the up direction, so each player can set it to taste. It's best to adjust it once the PCB is installed.
Sanwa makes two versions, Type A and Type B, depending on how the joystick is mounted inside the fightstick. To find out which one you need, open the stick and look at the joystick from the back, with the buttons on the right: if the harness connector is on the right, it's Type A (this PCB); if it's on the left, you need Type B.
No soldering required. Disconnect the joystick harness, remove the clear guide plate and lift out the original PCB, which simply pulls upwards. Then fit the new one in the same orientation, refit the guide plate and reconnect the harness, taking care not to plug it in upside down.
Important: using this PCB with the Sanwa JLF P-R or P-B actuators (red and blue) is not recommended. They engage the microswitches earlier, which cancels out the effect of the XTP-M3L1 and makes accidental inputs more likely.
