ATTENTION: Dreamcast, Naomi and, in general, any game running at a resolution above 15 kHz will not display in CGA 15 kHz mode. These games can only be played in VGA / HDMI mode.

The Pandora Box King of Game is a JAMMA multigame board designed to be installed straight into your arcade machine. It comes with 5142 retro games, including 57 3D games, 61 light gun games and 101 games for 3 and 4 players. Series such as The King of Fighters, Street Fighter, Metal Slug, Mortal Kombat, Tekken and Final Fight, light gun classics like The House of the Dead 2 and Time Crisis, and four-player beat 'em ups like Cadillacs and Dinosaurs or The Simpsons.

This version is only compatible with horizontal monitors. It offers four output resolutions, 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720, 1024 x 768 and 384 x 224, and works with HD monitors, VGA monitors and original 15 kHz CGA arcade monitors. It suits a machine fitted with a modern screen just as well as one with an original CRT, with a pixel-perfect picture.

Controls can be configured independently for each game, and any 16:9 title can be switched to 4:3 in a couple of steps. It supports up to 17 emulators, including Atari 2600, Dreamcast, Naomi, Atomiswave and PSP, and you can also add games manually.

In the settings menu you can set up individual credit settings for up to 4 players or switch on FREE PLAY mode. Each game has its own difficulty, speed and number of lives settings, and a play timer can be set per game, which comes in very handy in bars and arcades. It also features turbo fire and a pause function.

For fans of the classic look, there's a scanline generator that recreates the appearance of a CRT monitor. The settings menu also includes an image enhancement option, which smooths the graphics and softens the pixels; switch it on or off to taste. High scores are saved automatically, save states are supported and favourites lists can be edited freely.

Connectivity is up to date: built-in Wi-Fi and Ethernet port for firmware updates as new versions become available, plus 2 USB ports for gamepads or a trackball.

Performance is a clear step up from previous boards. It runs on a Quad Core ARM Cortex-A55 CPU at 2.2 GHz, a Mali-G52 2EE GPU and 2 GB of DDR4 RAM. In the games we've tested we haven't noticed any lag, tearing or sound issues. It's also the first Pandora Box with 5.1 Surround sound. With its built-in sound amplifier, all you need to do is connect a minijack cable to the PCB's jack output.
