New version of the J-PAC-C USB Jamma Interface for PC (control only version) from Ultimarc.
IMPORTANT NOTE: This J-PAC-C (Control Only Version) DOES NOT handle video signals. It is designed exclusively for connecting arcade controls (joysticks, buttons, service, test, etc.) to a PC or other compatible systems.
New version of the J-PAC-C (JAMMA interface for PC to Arcade Controls) from the renowned British brand Ultimarc. The J-PAC-C is an interface that allows a PC to be connected to an Arcade Machine using only the JAMMA harness for controls, via USB or PS/2.
Unlike the standard J-PAC, this version is dedicated exclusively to controls and does not include any video related functions. It retains all the advanced features of the I-PAC2 encoder, integrated directly into a JAMMA format, allowing for a clean installation without internal modifications.
Thanks to the J-PAC-C, no modification of the original wiring of the arcade machine is required to connect a PC. It is compatible with Windows, Linux (Raspberry Pi) and macOS, offering a flexible and modern solution to reuse original arcade controls.
This interface is designed for those who wish to preserve the aesthetics and authenticity of their arcade machine, while taking advantage of the benefits of a computer to run emulators and modern systems, without altering the original video system.
The J-PAC-C features full protection against electrostatic discharge and reverse connections. In addition, it includes 3 additional JAMMA connections: Tilt, Service SW and Test, expanding control options for advanced arcade configurations. It also offers full compatibility with 12V coin mechanisms.
When connected for the first time, the J-PAC-C is recognized by the system as a USB keyboard. Unlike conventional keyboards, this interface allows simultaneous key presses without practical limits and completely eliminates the Ghost Keys issue, thanks to its full native USB support.
It includes Ultimarc’s well known SHIFT function, which allows assigning any input as a modifier key to access alternative functions, effectively doubling the number of available actions without adding more physical buttons.
Another major advantage is the total absence of LAG, as each input has its own dedicated connection that communicates directly with the microcontroller CPU, ensuring immediate and precise response.
The action keys for MAME are preconfigured by default, although they can be freely reprogrammed according to user preferences. Below you will find the instruction manual in Spanish and the official configuration software.
