Description - Arcadeforge Sync Strike CGA / RGB to VGA sync signal cleaner
Since most consoles and gaming systems output the composite sync information along with the video output, and since most modern monitors do not accept this information along with the sync, we must remove the video signal. That is the reason why the Sync Strike adapter was designed.
The objective of Arcadeforge's Sync Strike is to be a Plug and Play solution to connect a RGB / Component video signal to a scaler or any other other devices such as the GBS8200 CGA2VGA video converter. This way, we will obtain a premium image quality when connecting a console such as the Super Nintendo to a modern monitor. This premium image quality is achieved because the Sync Strike cleans and converts the component signal to a component with composite sync (CSYNC) LM1881 chip integrated in the PCB.
The Sync Strike adapter is also very useful for CRT monitors that require separate synchronization and cannot work with the standard CSYNC. For example, when connecting a classic console via RGB / SCART to monitors such as the NEC XP37 or the he RGB information and syncs can be obtained both through the VGA DSUB15 connector and through the screw terminals of the board.
To get the audio out of the SCART connector when connecting it to the Sync Strike board, the board has 2 x RCA Audio Left - Right outputs and also 2 x screw terminals with the same function. To power the Sync Strike we have a 2.1 x 5.5mm DC connector for 5V Power supplies. This Power supply can be found on the following LINK. The board can also be powered directly through Pin 8 of the SCART connector
